Redemption Jiu Jitsu

Conrad Duran

Head Instructor

Conrad Duran is a San Angelo native, living in West Texas his entire life. His Jiu Jitsu journey began in 2013 and is now a black belt under Rafael ‘Formiga’ Barbosa being promoted in 2021. In 2017 he started teaching Jiu Jitsu to help bring awareness of the art/sport to the San Angelo Community. As an active competitor in his earlier belts he has traveled the country competing at all levels of the competition scene! The passion he holds can be seen in the classes he teaches and as the Head Instructor he wants all students just to strive for more and never settle for less. Regardless if a competition is near or if daily life struggles become too much Jiu Jitsu can push one’s boundaries to see what they are really made of in a positive environment at RJJ.

Zac Marshall

First Responders & Adults Instructor

Zac Marshall is part owner of Redemption Jiu Jitsu (RJJ). RJJ was formed to better offer students/parents a healthy, safe, transparent form of leadership and tutelage of martial arts. RJJ blends martial arts with our community on a safe, devoted level.

Born and raised in West Texas, Zac Marshall is a black belt under Rafael ‘Formiga’ Barbosa. He began training martial arts at an early age, however, didn’t begin consistent training until 2005 where the majority of his training was kickboxing/MMA. Zac’s journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu began in 2009. Today he focuses on teaching and training primarily nogi (without the gi garment) and combatives for first responders and interested parties.

Zac has spent half his life working in the corporate scene. He is now an entrepreneur where he is able to blend his passion with attention to detail when not on the mats. Teaching has long been his goal to achieve, and BJJ and entrepreneurship have enabled him to bridge these gaps. When Zac isn’t on the mats, you can find him serving pints at his restaurant/bar.

Patrick Lindsey

Adults Instructor

Patrick Lindsey is part owner of Redemption Jiu Jitsu (RJJ). RJJ was formed to better offer students/parents a healthy, safe, transparent form of leadership and tutelage of martial arts. RJJ blends martial arts with our community on a safe, devoted level.

Born and Raised in West Texas, Patrick Lindsey focused primarily on sports at a young age. After High School he had the opportunity to extend his football journey to the collegiate level followed by 2 years in the AFL (Arena Football League). Patrick is currently a Brown Belt under Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa. Patrick started his Jiu Jitsu journey back in 2009 through the avenues of Kick Boxing/MMA but this only lasted for a year or so due to focusing more time with his family. In 2017 he was reintroduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has trained consistently since then. Patrick teaches when he can but is limited due to work schedule and kid’s activities.

Patrick has spent the last 17 years of his professional career in the Oil and Gas industry. Venturing into the entrepreneurial world with RJJ he has been able to further dedicate his time and resources to the martial art that has become such a monumental part of his life. When Patrick is not training on the mats or working in the gym you can find him spending time with his family and cheering on his 3 boys in one of their several sporting events.
